Ava sighed as she looked at herself in the huge mirror in her room. One thing was sure: dresses were not her thing. She didn't use to wear them, she didn't like wearing them and she hoped she wouldn't need to do that. And she wouldn't have done that, but she had to, for this case. They had had to deal with a serial killer for a pretty long time now. Ashton Stevens had killed no less than five women and now, he was going to join a big, fancy party, in order to find his next victim. So, Ava and Madison had been sent to the party as well, so they could catch him before he made his sixth victim. And because it was a fancy party, she couldn't just throw on a pair of jeans and a shirt. So, just for this matter, she put on a pretty dress. It was not very elegant, it was quite simple, but it was still a change for her. She let her hair flow on her shoulders and applied only a bit make-up.

As her phone rang, meaning that Madison was outside of her building, she put on a pair of high heels, grabbed her black purse and headed outside.

Madison smiled, looking at her friend as Ava came outside . "Wow, look at you! You look so pretty!" It was strange seeing Ava in a dress, since Maddy always saw her in either jeans or pants, but it was a nice strange. "I'll be the first to admit - I'm kinda nervous about this..." Although Madison had done these sorts of undercover things before in Vegas, she was always nervous when starting these things. But she reminded herself that she was a pro, just like Ava was, and really there was no reason to worry. Much.

She smoothed her dress as she asked, "Are you driving, or shall I?" The department had let them hire out a special car to throw off any suspicion that they were with the police.

Ava smiled shyly when Madison told her that she looked good. In all honesty, she was not that confident about her looks, at least not that day. She didn't have a supermodel body. She was curvy, and she didn't know exactly how good that was. But anyway, this was not the main thing she had to think about. "Aw, thank you," she replied to her friend. "So do you." When Maddy said that she was nervous, Ava just chuckled. "Oh, come on," she told her. "This is going to be fun." Ava loved adrenaline and loved doing everything for her job. She didn't know if Maddy was like her, but she surely was a professional and a great detective.

Ava smoothed her dress as well and passed a hand through her blond hair. "I'll drive," she said with a shrug.

"Oh I have no doubt it'll be fun. Hopefully the punch won't be poisoned or anything," she joked as she got into the car. She looked over at Ava again for a moment and with a smile said, "You'll have to watch out for all the guys that will be trying to flirt with you."
As the two drove, she was getting more excited about it, feeling the adrenaline rush begin.

Ava smiled at Madison's words and shrugged a bit. "You know better," she told her. In her opinion, Maddy was the best-looking detective out there, even in one of her bad hair days. And now, she looked just perfect, with that gorgeous dress and classy hair.
As she started to drive, she kept thinking of it, how it was going to be and how they were going to get this serial killer. She felt excited, but, even though she hadn't admitted it earlier, also a bit nervous. With all these thoughts running through her mind, she didn't even realize how quick they got at the restaurant. Ava stopped the car and grabbed her purse. She looked at Madison with a last smile. "Let's go, partner," she told her, as she got out of the car.

Madison took a deep breath and gave a nod. "Onwards," she commanded with a chuckle, linking arms with Ava as they walked the short distance. "Right so if either of us spot Stevens, we'll make some excuse to get him over to the other one of us," Maddy said as they entered the restaurant. Her eyes widened slightly - she hadn't expected so many people. "Good luck," she said with a smile, slipping away into the crowd.

Victor took a sip of his drink, watching the crowd. He had been invited to this party and although he hadn't felt like going, he thought he should put in an appearance. Watching the pretty females chatting with the suave males he smiled inwardly - this seemed just a bit fake to him.
Suddenly he spotted a familiar figure. Ava was making her way through the corwd, not having spotted him yet. He snuck away, getting behind her. Swiftly his hands went around her eyes in a slightly childish gesture and within a moment he'd spun her so she was facing him. "Miss Smith. Fancy seeing you here..."

Ava nodded to Madison and entered the crowd. The restaurant was pretty big, yet it was full of people. Ashton Stevens had picked the right place to find his next victim; a busy place where no one would notice his intentions. She gasped a bit as a pair of hands went over her eyes from behind. She had all the reasons to be a bit scared. A serial killer was probably in that room with them right in that moment. However, when she was spinned around, the first thing she saw a pair of hypnotizing blue eyes she had seen before. She sighed, almost unnoticeable. Why did she have to meet Victor Hunt even when she was at work?... How could she focus now? She glanced a bit at him, but enough to see how good-looking he was. His black suit definetly looked better than his scrubs. It was an interesting change. If at the hospital he was great-looking, now he was breath-taking. "Dr.Hunt," she said with a smile. "What a pleasure."

Albert leaned against the bar and took a sip of wine from his glass. He liked parties, he liked enjoying himself, so this event was a good occasion for him to do that. He slightly turned his head to the others, when he spotted a familiar figure. He smiled to himself and kept in place for a while, to see if Madison was going to spot him or he had to go up to her.

Victor smiled, looking at her. "You look beautiful tonight," he told her. "Would you like a drink?" he asked, putting his hand on the small of her back and gently steering her towards the bar.

Madison stopped in her tracks for a second, spotting Albert. She had no idea how she was going to concentrate now with him there. But she decided that she was a pro and she wasn't going to let his gorgeous presence put her off. She smiled, coming up to him. "Evening," she said, happy to see him.

Ava looked at Victor with a smiled on her lips. It was really, a sincere smile, when he told her that she looked beautiful. She was not very confident when it came to wearing a dress, because she had the impression that nothing looked good and everything was a disaster.
When he asked about a drink, she nodded slightly. "Sure," she replied. As his hand touched the small of her back, she felt like an electrical current running through her whole body. But she decided to brush the thoughts away and focus on what they had to do. Only because she had accepted a drink, it didn't mean that she had forgotten why she was there in the first place.

Albert looked at Madison with a small smirk and a raised eyebrow, as if he hadn't seen her already. "Good evening," he said, looking down to her whole body for a moment. "You look gorgeous," he added with a smile.

She smiled. "Thank you," she replied. "You look quite handsome yourself," she said. As usual, she wanted to add. He always took care in his appearance and that was one of the things she liked about him. Not too far away she saw Ava with Dr. Hunt and she gave a slight smirk. "So how's your evening going so far?"

He grinned. "Great. This place does the best cocktails... Are you a vodka or rum girl?" he asked with a smile; he had several yummy cocktails he was thinking of getting her.

Ava turned around with a smile, so she was facing him. She knew that she shouldn't drink, because she was working, but she didn't want to say that out loud. Stevens could have been close, and she would have ruined everything if he found out that detectives were there. Plus, one single drink could do no harm. So, she decided to give this a try. "Vodka," she said. "Definetly."

Albert smirked at her. "Well, I guess it's going well," he said with a shrug. "For sure, it was a lot worse before you came up," he smiled.

He gave a smile. "Great. I've got the perfect drink in mind for you." He went up to the barman and smiling ordered a 'Rosebud'. A moment later he presented Ava with a martini glass with a pretty pink drink in it. "Enjoy," he said with a smile. "And if you hate it, blame me."

Ava smiled a bit as he handed her the glass. Surprising for many, but she knew some stuff about cocktails and alcoholic drinks. Before drinking, she looked up at Victor and slightly bit her lip. "Passionfruit, huh?" was all she asked, then took a sip of it.

She chuckled. "Well, I'm glad I could make your evening better then," she told him with a smile, mischief dancing in her eyes.

He nodded. "I figured you'd like something with not a strong alcohol taste. And they're quite a nice cocktail. But shh, don't tell anyone; they might think me girly or something," he joked, taking a sip of his own drink.

Ava chuckled slightly and bit her lip. Honestly, with the way he looked tonight, no one would have said that. She had always had a weakness for men in suits or tight, sleeveless shirts. It was like he had read her mind. She took a sip of her own drink, looking away for a bit.

Albert noticed the mischievious spark in her eyes and smirked at that. "Would you like a drink?" he asked, as he took her hand, leading her to the bar.

She wondered whether she should have a drink since she was technically on-the-clock. But she figured one drink couldn't hurt so she nodded. "Sure." Her hand tingled pleasantly as he took it and she couldn't help smiling. "Vodka Sunrise, please," she told the barman.

Albert smiled and nodded to her. "Not bad," he told her, as they waited for her drink. Soon enough, he picked up a glass and handed it to her.

He smiled watching her. He was quite glad that he'd come to the party after all, because it was great seeing her. After he'd left the hospital, he'd wanted to call her or text her to meet up, but he'd figured that she didn't want to see or talk to him and for the first time in his adulthood he was a wimp and didn't text.
He smirked a bit, seeing her eyes roaming over him. "Like what you see?" he asked, sipping his mojito.

Ava rolled her eyes at that, but kept her smile on. Well, she definetly did. It was probably the first time she found an English accent sexy, so that was something. She sipped from her drink before answering. "Glad to see that you haven't changed," she said, a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

Victor smirked. "You know what they say - leopards can't change their spots. Besides, why would I want to change? Especially since I know what kind of effect it has on you..."

Maddy gave a slight shrug, grinning. "What can I say, I'm a tad patriotic." As she took a drink she remembered their 'movie night' and couldn't help but blush.

Ava raised a brow and slightly shook her head, trying to hide somehow the blush that was forming in her cheeks. "Oh please," she said, looking straight at him. "You don't have any effect on me. But keep dreaming, pretty boy," she told him, but only then realized that he had just called him pretty.
