She was alone and scared. She had no idea where she was and who she was. It was getting dark and exhaustion slowly took over.

Amanda and her platoon were on the night shift this evening, Amanda was heading out of the everglades when she saw a person on the side of the road, she radioed it in while pulling over, then activated her lights, after stopping and putting the car in park, Amanda got out, her hand on her SIG Sauer P226 just in case, "Ma'am?" she called out over the growl of the Ford Fusion the department was now using as patrol cars

The lone girl could barely walk. She heard the faint sounds when suddenly there was light too.
Did someone spoke?
Alexa turned around and saw patrol car and woman "Help." was all she could muster before collapsing on the ground

seeing the woman collapse, Amanda ran over and started First-Aid, calling for an ambulance at the same time

Alexa felt her energy leaving. She was very weak from endless wondering around Everglades. She had no idea what had happened to her. Nor who she was.

back up soon came and Amanda got her to the EMTs

Alexa didn't know what was going on. She was taken to hospital where doctors went over her injuries.
There was a deep wound in her side and few broken ribs.
And even more bruises.
Also they found some old traumas that could be only caused by some massive incident....

Amanda got to the hospital awhile later and asked about the young woman who was brought in

It was dark but there was this soothing melody sounding from somewhere far away. She was scared but curious.
What was this place?
Finally a faint shed of light shone onto her pathway.
Then Alex realised she was in a wood with a huge trees surrounding.
She remembered this place. She has been there before.
Faint sunlight filled the air gleaming through the thickness of trees. It looked so magic. And with the mist highlighting the rays of sun she felt like in a fairytale book.

a nurse told Amanda were the girl was, Amanda nodded, then walked over to the ER room that she was in

A jolt of hot pain shot through her body.
Her mind was still miles away in a safe place she used to hide on the days like that.
A faint sound of music flowed through her ears. Lyrics catching her memory...

outside, Amanda met up with the doctor that had treated her

Suddenly her eyes shot open. A sharp pain shot through her body and her head felt so heavy.

Where was she? And why was she?

It was really confusing.

Amanda soon joined her

The lonely girl brought her hands to her face and sobbed.
How come she couldn't remember anything at all aside the dreams? But in dreams it was still the feeling of safety. Now it was all about fear and frustration.

Amanda watched her, "You up to talking?" she asked gently

A voice near her brought her out of wandering her troubled mind.
"Um... I guess..."

Amanda nodded, "When your ready: talk me through what happened."

Girl nodded taking a deep breath and closed eyes, concentrating on what she knew. The problem was that there wasn't much to tell. "Well... I vaguely remember a road and lots of green at the sides. I was in really much pain so it made me too dizzy to tell what happened and where I was. I don't remember anything else than walking along very long, deserted road. Oh my god, I don't even remember my name!" her eyes went wide in realisation.

Amanda nodded slowly, "Take a deep breath and close your eyes." she said to her gently

Alexa did as was told

Amanda watched her

Even with eyes closed and breathing slowly nothing came back. Just the same dirty road in the middle of what looked like a total wildlife. But somewhere back of her head was this nagging feeling of something far away.
Alexa sighed and slightly shook her head, completely forgotten where she was.

Amanda sighed a bit, she then gently squeezed Alexa's hand as she watched her

Alexa felt other woman's squeeze and opened her eyes. "Nothing." she said with a look of a puppy dog thrown out in the cold rain, her eyes full of sorrow.
"I feel so empty as a notebook in shop. So blank that you can just take a pencil and start writing. But also there's the dream, the place, the people-they seem so familiar but so strange at the same time. I can't understand it. I wish the forest could tell me" Alexa said hanging her head, reminding a child who's lost favorite toy.

Amanda watched her, then nodded a bit in reply

"Where am I? I mean what country, city?" girl asked becoming more curious and aware of her surroundings

"Your in a hospital right now." Amanda said to her gently, "And your in Miami, Florida, which is in the United States." she added

Alexa felt taken aback. The entirely tiny knowledge of previous life, as she already managed to name it, poked at her for this announcement.
"Miami and Florida, United States", she calculated at the new information that finally resurfaced something nagging in her subconsciousness, "I thought I was in Washington".
The latter made her realize that somewhere deep inside something was trying to brake free.

Amanda watched her, "Ma'am, what is it?" she asked, seeing Alexa's face change
