Mich noticed how silent Ryan became.
"Hey! Don't fall asleep! Stay awake!" she got worried.
It was clear he was struggling. Michelle looked at Sam who was stretched out her back. Mich rubbed her face. It was nonsense

Sam rubbed her head. It was getting troublesome. She didn't like elevators. Not after those twelve hours. But at least her sister was there too.
She moved over to Ryan and clutched his hand tightly "Ry, please stay with us. We need you as much as you need us. Please" she pleaded rubbing his hand

He felt their tries to get him going. He knew probably concussion, as his head hit that metal thing, was making it difficult to react. But he must stay awake. Falling asleep would be very bad. He opened his barely focused eyes and looked at both girls. They were worried.
Of course, how else they had to react?

Sam looked around and tried to think of a way to help Ryan. Then an idea came. She took her phone and put on the music. It filled whole space and it didn't feel so empty and frightening.
Samanta decided to take a closer look at her friend. A nasty looking hash decorated back of his head and temple. There was also a large bruise that looked scary.

Michelle poked at the buttons. They still didn't react. She sighed and kept connecting the wires. For now biggest reaction she got was few sparkles and blinking lights

He still felt like crap. His head made it hard to stay awake and then his back started to feel uneasy too.
Damn elevators he cringed inwardly

Sam ran a hand through her hair. It was getting upsetting. Too much for her liking.
She looked at Ryan who seemed getting paler every minute.
Without thinking twice Sam fished a tissue out of her bag and gently put it over his wound.
It was still bleeding "It's gonna hurt but I need to put some pressure on that gash" she said to the young man.
He weakly nodded and Samanta pushed hard on his head wound

Ryan closed his eyes bracing himself for the upcoming pain.

"AAAARGHH!" Mich growled in frustration. She didn't like this place. She didn't like darkness. Though there was faint light from one tiny emergency bulb.
"I think I'm just try out to get on top and find a way through some of those tunnels they have. I know Ryan can fit so do I." she suddenly said receiving stabbing glare in her backside. "I know. But it's our only chance. I doubt this damn box is letting us anywhere soon. And I think he needs more serious medical attention" Mich said. It was clearly their only chance. And she was the only who was fit for this task. Sam had back problems and she was taller. Smaller size was also important. Ryan was out of question. A concussion doesn't make you coherent enough. And she was even smaller than her brother.
The "team pint size" could pull off nearly anything.
On the field they were proven to be handful. Though lately Ryan's frame got even smaller compared to their first meetings. He definately reminded her of little skeleton. He dreaded to become even thinner than she. Suspicious as it was.
But now she was only solution left

Sam just shook her head. She realized it was all true. She couldn't do what Michelle had in mind. Her back and size wouldn't fit the job.
Besides she was better giving Ryan somewhat decent medical attention which wouldn't be Michelle's cup of tea.
"Ok. Do it." she nodded approval. "And be careful."
Girl nodded and looked at Ryan once more. Samanta smiled at her and then Mich stucked everything in her pockets and managed to pluck off the metal bar that was reason for Ryan's head trauma. With that girl bucked off the roof and jumped very high and pulled herself up into hole.
With another assurance Michelle and metal pole disappeared into shaft leaving Sam with vaguely aware Ryan.
She looked down at him, still holding cloth to his wound. "Just hang on"

The pain was beyond everything he'd gone through lately. Of course nothing even near the pain after crash. But he started to feel several months after waking up. First period he was so heavily sedated, pumped with variety of meds, that it was fuzzy.
Now there was only full blast of pain, shooting through his skull, telling him he got severe concussion. So he never even dared to open his eyes.

Few more minutes spent in silence. Only sound was Ryan's shaky breathing.
The bleeding seemed slowed down but not completely. And the cloth was already half soaked.
Samanta was looking for something to use as a bandage.
Few more minutes and she got half of her bag's contents on the floor.
Luckily she still had her elastic bandages and lots of extra cloths, just in case.
So now she got variety of ideas to work on.
After few moments two cloths were neatly prepared and wrapped around Ryan's head with the help of elastic bandage. Her hands were now free and she could operate with her hands freely, taking notice of Ryan's condition.
His eyes were still closed as if he feared to face the reality. But he didn't seem to be asleep.
"Ryan?" Sam gently shook him by shoulder

He was floating. Again. Pain kept coming in waves. Finally the pressure movement became constant.
"Ryan?" someone was calling him.
But who?
Eventually it broke through his layers of fuzz.
"Sam?" he let it out merely a whisper. His voice felt weaker than he'd thought.
The nauseated feeling returned.

Sam breathed a sigh. It was good to hear reaction from him.
She knew last time collision with hard surface caused pretty much unwanted problems with his overall presence.
"Ryan how do feel? I need you to speak with me"

It was fairly dark up there but she wasn't that scared. Her brother needed instant medical attention and they all just needed to get out of that damn metal box.

He draw a shaky breath. "I-I feel terrible. My head hurts as hell. Like someone would beat me with baseball bat." another flinch as the jolt of pain surged through his hazy brain. "I'm dizzy and little sick" he told hoping he wouldn't puke all over the place.
For a while he's been pretty close to throwing up when dizzy spells overwhelmed him more.
But the pain was just too much.
It made him feel as if his head was going to explode.

Sam felt worried about Ryan. He didn't look good. She noticed he seemed little sluggish. His answers were pretty short and his eyes kept shutting every now and then.
"I know. Just hang on for a bit more. You can do it Wolfe." Samanta assured hoping Mich will hurry up. He slowly started fading and it wasn't good thing.

Ryan just kept trying all the while Sam seemed pretty worried and feared he'd lost the battle.
But he wasn't about to give up. Not just yet.
"I..I'm t...t..ry..ing" he slurred out before nearly coughing up a lung.

"Gee Ryan!" Sam nearly jumped at his sudden coughing fit. It clearly wasn't a good sign.
"Just hang on a bit more" she said rubbing circles on his back

Meanwhile the brave girl was slowly making her way through the maze of ventilation shafts. It wasn't easy but somehow girl managed to squeeze herself through the one leading to main hallway and eventually landed on receptionist desk, scaring the young woman.
But it was worth all the hard work as Michelle finally could grab the phone and call for service.
So in no time her friends could be saved from nasty elevator

Finally after what felt eternity the elevator roared in life as the lights came back to life and they were able to finally get out and get Ryan to hospital.
Sam had to reschedule the meeting with H. But she knew next time she'll avoid elevator as much as possible.
